SNMP credentials

The credentials are used by the network scanner in the Oxari system, allowing it to access devices using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). These credentials are key to ensuring secure communication and authorization of the network scanner, enabling it to gather vital information about the status, configuration and performance of network devices. Essential for maintaining the efficiency and security of your network infrastructure.

New SNMP credentials

To add a new SNMP credential, navigate to the section in question and then click the “New SNMP credentials” button.

Filling

Then fill in the required fields and click the “Save” button.

Name - The name of the credential.

Port number - The number of the port on which the device is available.

Protocol - SNMP protocol version.

Community - Community of SNMP agents (public or private).

User - The user name used for authorization when connecting to an SNMP device.

Context - Defines the specific scope or domain in which the SNMP agent operates.

Authentication - A method used to verify the identity of a network scanner, often based on a password or key.

Encryption - Use encryption methods to protect data transmitted between the scanner and SNMP device, ensuring the security and privacy of the transmission.
